Very good game

I was very much entertained by this game. The visuals, sounds, and gameplay were all nicely done.

Here is the level that I created, "Vault of Cronos"

Red Moon Review, Newgrounds

Very good game, but with some major flaws...

The game itself was next to amazing, the art, animation, sound effects, and music were all fantastic. But the thing that brought this game down from a 10 to a 7 is the fact that when controlling the character, her movements are often unpredictible as the controls are a bit touchy and sloppy. The biggest thing though was the fact that you could move through the enemy characters. The fact that you can really adds unnecessary difficutly and frustration to the game. Oh I also forgot to mention that not being able to change your direction while attacking in combination with the fact that you will often fly right through your opponent without scratching them is very very annoying, especially during the fight with the king.

This game would be perfect if these seemingly trivial flaws were to be ironed out.

Not Bad

But there could be so much more to this. Maybe add variables in the speed of your character or have the option to control the sword with your mouse where the tip of the sword is attatched the the cursor. Put in upgrades or achievements of somesort to make the game rewarding. Music and sound effects would be nice, and like others of have said make a mute option available.

Other than that the game was pretty fun and challenging, the farthest I could make it is level 17 and that was only a handful of times. I generally started to struggle between 11-14. I noticed that on 10-13 all you have to do is move straight left move the sword slightly to the top of the screen and as the enemy swings by that first time swipe straight down and you win. 14-16 works exactly the same except in the opposite direction. 17 I couldn't come up with anything lol.

everdel responds:

Thanks for the suggestions. I think upgrades and achievements should definitely be included in my next version. I will also try to add some sound and music.

There are lots of different ways to beat the AI on levels 10-17. The method you use works, but there are many others. The AI actually never favors one side over the other, although it can sometimes feel that way.

Don't worry, there are also ways beat the AI on level 17. As you reach higher levels the AI will become more careful in his attacks. You won't be able to use just one technique anymore. You will need to combine different techniques and change your tactics depending on how the AI chooses to attack.

Also be careful not to always charge straight forward. That works great on lower levels, but higher level opponents will start dodging your first attack, leaving you exposed to their counter attack if you get too close.

Good Game

I enjoyed this game very much, the visuals, animation, sound effects, and music were all very nicely done and went together very well. The gameplay was also really cool, I liked going on around slowly becomming the strongest and wealthiest force in the land. I defeated the game with becomming grand master of the enforcers and aquiring over 1,000,000 (I got up to 1.6 million). I also took over like 12 cities.

For people who are confused about the life bar, your life recovers fully everytime you make it to your destination.

I also found some glitches in the while playing:

1. When in 20X mode and doing one of the package missions for the enforcers you're able to skip at least one fight per trip.

2. The commander level for the enforcers was skipped so I never got that position, but still got up to grand master.

3. The biggest one that I found which I occasionally abused for my own benefit: When selling weapons and armor move the most expensive item into the sell box and then move just one other item in the sell box like a stick so that you have your expensive item and a stick (or another item that is lesser than the first). Now move the stick back over to the unequip section and drop it into one of the boxes, pick it back up and place it into another box in the unequip section, keep on doing this until the stick and the expensive item switch places. Now the sell price should either be 0 or for what the expensive item was. If it's correct and says 0 then start over. So bassibally you can sell sticks and every other weapon you have for the price of the claymore without actually selling the claymore (because the glitch causes the two items to switch while keeping the sale price). This also works for amor.

I'm quite tired so I hope that last glitch makes sense, if not PM me and I'll explain it better.

It keeps going and going and going....

I kept playing and playing expecting a conclusion of some sort, but to my dismay there is none.

The graphics and animation are well done, I'll give the game that, but the gameplay sucks. It's no fun at all to just sit there and shoot zombie after zombie (which all look alike btw) over and over again. There wern't even any new guns you could have to blast at the endless hoard of zombie clones.

Being able to reload at any time you want would be a plus as I found it to be a pain having to wait until your clip is completely empty, and trying to spam the space bar to reload caused the game to lag heavily.

In conclusion this game should HAVE a conclusion, more than one look for the zombies, free will to reload, more guns, more locations, and an actual objective; just give the game some substance.

The only good thing to come from this game was through my persitence of trying to find a conclusion I obtained the high score of nearly a million points lol.

Total bullshit

This game is total bullshit. It looks nice and has nice sound effects and music, but the controls and gameplay is shit. The worst part of the whole game is the boss's skill to reduce your life and mana down to 1 each. That is fucking ridiculous, every time I get his life down to 25% or so that's all he fucking does. That coupled with healing himself; this totally killed any potential fun this game could've been.

Drkgodz responds:

Well when I had him without any skills, it was too easy to kill him. This way it remains a challenge. But I really recommend for you to kill him. It is worth the effort in the end with the bonuses.

Oh, and to avoid getting 1/1ed a lot, try jumping more often.
I've made it so if the boss does the attack while you're in the air, it has no effect :P

Very difficult

The game itself is fun, but what would make it even more fun is to make it a bit easier or better yet have an options menu where the user can decide difficulty. I don't care for the controls either: A=shoot, S=jump, it should be SPACE=jump LEFT CLICK=shoot. Aside from that the game was really well made and aesthetically pleasing.

It's alright

the premise of the game is pretty creative and fun and the visuals and animation were decent. The only negative thing about this is the controls and physics of this game which are terrible. That single flaw hurt this game badly for me and ruined a lot of the fun that there could've been.

eh...

just another game to waste a few minutes. The best part of the whole game though is the magic trick, and what baffles me is that it doesn't lead you to only one symbol but 3. Yet which ever one of the 3 symbols that appear beside my final number never fails to be the one to appear in the magic ball. I figured this to be just a coincidense, but I attempted it at least 5 times with the same results of either the hand, paintbrush, or crayon symbol within the magic ball always matching which ever of the 3 symbols I ended up with. I can't figure out what I'm missing here, does anyone know what the trick is that makes this happen?

atticuslodius responds:

The trick works by MAGIC! .... not really. It's math.

This has great potential

The visuals, sounds, and dialogue were fantastically done. The only thing I have against this game is that it was far too short, and like what the others have said the answer to the third riddle was off a bit. I came up with many of the same answers Madden666 did expecting something along those lines. I just don't see how the word reality fits in with what the riddle is describing.

One other thing that I didn't care for was the whole mystical and magical underline of this game. It would have been much more fun if it was more realistic, but that's just my own personal preferance.

Overall this game was well made and I enjoyed playing it, and like I said there's great potential and I would like to see more point and click games branch off of this.

I develop electronic gadgets for mundane tasks. I also do filmmaking.
